James Doona joins Athlone Town after spell at St Patrick's Athletic comes to an end
First Division Athlone Town have unveiled the signing of winger James Doona from St Patrick’s Athletic.
The 22-year-old joins the Co. Westmeath side after spending the previous three season’s at St Pat’s.
While at Richmond Park, the former Lourdes Celtic schoolboy made 39 appearances for the club.
He also scored four goals for the club during that timeframe, all of which coming against Derry City in the Premier Division.
The former Shamrock Rovers star is the tenth news signing for Athlone Town boss Adrian Carberry.
The Blue and Black of the Midlands recently acquired the services of Cabinteely duo Shane Barnes and Jonathan Carlin for 2021.
They also snapped up Dylan Hand from Longford Town and re-signed highly-rated young midfielder Mark Birrane.
Athlone finished in ninth position in the First Division table last season, and reached the semi-finals of the FAI Cup.
