Dalymount Park development programme details
Dublin City Council have confirmed details of the redevelopment schedule for Dalymount Park.
The Council’s Chief Executive confirmed the timeline on the project, which would see the stadium, the planned new home for both Bohemians and Shelbourne, set for completion by October 2023 at the latest.
Late last year the Council advertised for a team to lead the construction project management services for the redevelopment and that project manager is set to be appointed this week.
Separately last month the Council advertised for an architecturally led project team to provide architectural services along with civil and structural/mechanical and electrical engineering services plus cost consultancy.
The estimated value of that contract is €4m.
The development schedule sets out a 12 month design programme, including a Part 8 planning application, beginning in June 2019.
A contractor would be appointed between May and November 2020, with demolition of Dalymount Park due to begin in November 2020. The council noted a project completion date for the venue of between October 2022 and October 2023.
This plan is based on relevant funding being secured. The Council is planning to apply for funding for the redevelopment through the Large Scale Sports Infrastructure Fund (LSSIF). The application deadline for that recently established government funded scheme is 17 April.
City Councillors were informed last week that a settlement had been reached with the developers of the existing Phibsborough Shopping Centre regarding various title issues relating to land in the area. This means that the redevelopment project can now proceed.
The developer will construct a plaza area between the stadium and the shopping centre on Phibsborough Road with that work set to commence by the end of 2020.
