Near FM announce live coverage of WNL Cup final

Near FM have announced live coverage details for the Continental Tyres Women’s National League Cup final on Sunday.

Tolka Park plays host to Raheny United and Peamount United at 4.30pm on Sunday with Near FM announcing a three hour broadcast from 4pm.

Dave Hooper and Edd Kealy will provide full match commentary with Neal McDonagh and a selection of guests.

The Near FM team were awarded the local broadcaster of the year award in 2013 by the FAI for their coverage of Women’s football and junior football.

“At Near FM we are committed to promoting minority sports, and women's soccer is still a minority sport, but it is much more than that.” Near Media Co-Op overall co-ordinator Ciaran Murray told Extratime.ie

“It is the beautiful game played with a passion and a skill level often not recognised and reported upon in the media.

“We are fortunate to have Raheny United as our senior local team and we are proud to support them and in doing so to encourage girls and women of all ages to participate in sport.”

The broadcast will include the full game with extra-time and penalties if required as well as the presentation of the Continental Tyres Women’s national league cup trophy.

There shall also be pre and post-match interviews with both team managers and players along with members of Ireland’s women’s football community.

The game is the second episode of the Northside football series in association with the BAI which broadcasted St. Kevin’s Boys academy cup tournament in episode one.
