Wexford announce a host of re-signings

Wexford Youths, who finished fourth in the 2014 SSE Airtricity League First Division, will be hoping to go one step further this year and secure promotion to the coveted Premier Division.

The club today announced that a number of key personnel from last season’s campaign have agreed terms for the new season.

The club have announced that Eric Molloy, Graham Doyle, Gary Delaney, Craig Wall, Jimmy Dermody, Stephen Last, Dean Broaders, Aiden 'Rox' Keenen and Danny Furlong will all be donning the famous pink for the Youths.

Last season’s top goal scorer for the Youth’s Furlong is a very important signing back with the club and the former Cork City striker will be hoping that he will be able to reproduce the goods this season and help Youths into the Premier Division. Goalkeeper Graham Doyle is another important resigning for the club and Wexford fans will be hoping for more heroics between the posts this season.

Wexford Youths manager Shane Keegan was very happy with the players signing on for the coming season when he spoke to wexfordyouthsfc.ie.

“Myself and the rest of the management team have been working really hard over the last few weeks to get around to many of last year’s squad and we're delighted with the response that we've gotten.

“Some of our players received some attractive offers from elsewhere but such was their belief in what the club is trying to achieve that they have decided to stay on and give there all again for the Youths.”

Keegan hopes to have further good news over the coming period and aims to confirm more re-signings, along with some new additions in the coming weeks.

“There are a few of the lads that I still have to sit down with and I'll be looking to that in the next week. We've also been talking with some potential new signings who I believe have great potential and could be massive additions to the club so we'll be working hard to try to tie them up as soon as possible.”

The Youths will be without Shane Dunne and Killian Cantwell who have departed the club in the off season to play Premier Division football next season with Drogheda United and Galway respectively.

“They were two fantastic players for us last season and we are very disappointed to lose them but given the exemplary attitudes that they showed while at the club I'd like to thank them for everything that they gave us," said Keegan
