Clonakilty and Cork City renew links

Cork City FC have announced that primary club sponsors Clonakilty Food Co. have renewed sponsorship of the club for a further two years. The news coincides with the unveiling of a new Nike away jersey for the 2015 season.

Clonakilty Food Co. have been the Rebel Army’s shirt sponsor since February 2012 when they penned a three year deal.

FORAS chairman Pat Lyons told CorkCityFC.ie he was delighted to extend their deal with the food company having seen the benefits for both parties over the last two years.

“We’ve always been delighted to have a partner of the calibre of Clonakilty Food Co. on board.

“When we visited Áras an Uachtaráin just over a year ago, President Higgins highlighted their involvement with Cork City FC as a great positive for the League and an example for others to follow.

“We now look forward to strengthening our ties even further and bringing awareness of Cork City FC and Clonakilty Sausages to Europe and beyond.”

Colette Twomey, Managing Director of Clonakilty Food Co. also expressed her happiness at the deal, and acknowledged that the partnership has been beneficial for the company.

“We were delighted to partner with Cork City FC three years ago. Following on from the successful season just gone, we are looking forward to developing our relationship with Cork City FC further over the next two years. We wish them continued success as they challenge for further honours in the season ahead.”

The club will be selling the 2015 away jersey on Saturday from the club shop in Douglas with the adult sizes costing €55, children sizes costing €45.

Former Cork City player Neal Horgan will be signing copies of his book (which details his time playing with Cork City during the 2008 season) in the club shop from 12-2pm on Saturday for anybody wishing to pick up a signed copy for that perfect Christmas present for a League of Ireland fan.
