UCD Waves game against Peamount to be replayed

Last Saturday’s Continental Tyres Women’s National League clash between UCD Waves and Peamount United was abandoned after 71 minutes due to a floodlight failure in Jackson Park. Having led 2-0 at half-time thanks to goals from Julie-Ann Russell and Emily Cahill, the Waves managed to add a third in the second half before the abandonment.

The FAI have confirmed that in accordance with Clause 12.11.1 of the Participation Agreement, the League Administrator has decided that the fixture must be replayed in its entirety on a date and time to be advised in due course.

One weekend of games in the WNL remains before the Christmas break. This weekend Peamount United welcome Wexford Youths, Galway WFC host Raheny United whilst Cork City Women’s FC face Castlebar Celtic.

Meanwhile, the Continental Tyres Women's National League will now resume after the break on the weekend ending Sunday, 18th January 2015 with the Continental Tyres Women's National League Cup Final rescheduled for Sunday, 26th April.
