There is a full programme of matches in the SSE Airtricity League Premier and First Divisions this Friday and Saturday.
Premier Division leaders St Patrick’s Athletic are away to UCD on Friday night while second placed Shamrock Rovers, after their exertions against Liverpool at the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday, are in action on Saturdaywhen they are at home to bottom of the table Athlone Town.
After lifting the first trophy of the season last Saturday when they beat Dundalk in the Setanta Sports Cup Final, Sligo Rovers return to league action this Saturday when they bid to extend their six game unbeaten run at home to Bray Wanderers.
Elsewhere on Friday, Cork City take on Derry City, who are now managed by Peter Hutton following the departure of Roddy Collins last weekend, while Limerick face third place Dundalk and Drogheda United meet Bohemians at United Park with both teams looking for a first win in seven games.
In the First Division leaders Shelbourne face Shamrock Rovers on Friday at Tolka Park while Galway look to extend their unbeaten run to five games at home to Finn Harps and Wexford Youths and Waterford United meet in a South West derby at Ferrycarrig Park. On Saturday, Longford Town meet bottom of the table Cobh Ramblers who are still looking for their first win of the season.
