Costa Rica play in FIFA's CONCACAF federation and the team is governed by the Costa Rican Football Federation. They play their home games at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica in San Jose, the capitol city of Costa Rica.
Costa Rica first qualified for a World Cup Finals in 1990 and have also reached the Finals of the tournament in 2002, 2006 and 2014. Their most capped player is Walter Centeno who won the last of his 137 caps in 2009 and their highest goal-scorer is Rolando Fonseca who scored 47 times for his country between 1992 and 2011.
