About David Forde

David began his career with Galway United in the League of Ireland where he made 38 league appearances in his two years at the club. In 2001 he moved on to Welsh side Barry Town before signing for West Ham in February 2002. Loans spells at Derry City and Barnet followed but David returned to Galway United in 2004 without having played a league game for the Hammers.

In 2005 he returned to Derry City on a permanent deal and made 63 league appearances for the Candystripes over the following two seasons. In December 2006 he signed for Cardiff City where he again went out on loan, this time to Luton Town and Bournemouth, before joining Millwall in June 2008. He has been at the London club ever since.

David made his international debut for the Republic of Ireland against Northern Ireland on 24 May 2011. Ahead of the matches with Oman and Serbia, David has 24 caps to his name. He was not included in the Republic of Ireland's final squad for the 2016 European Championship.
