SHELBOURNE
Johnny McDonnell’s Shelbourne side face Liam Buckley’s St Patrick’s Athletic in their rearranged FAI Ford Cup Third Round Replay at Tolka Park on Monday night.
The sides were due to replay at Tolka Park last Monday after the two played out a 1-1 draw in Inchicore on the previous Friday. However the replay was postponed following a fault with one of the Tolka Park flood lights.
Since the postponement Shels have recorded a 0-0 draw with fellow title challengers Longford Town, and remain just three points behind Tony Cousin’s side.
The reds will of course be without 17 year old midfielder Adam McDonnell who joined Sky Bet Championship outfit Ipswich Town on Saturday.
Midfielder Darren Tinnelly continues to miss out through injury, while a knee injury means that Keith Quinn will miss the game.
ST PATRICK’S ATHLETIC
The Saints head into Monday night’s replay in high spirits having beaten Derry City in the Brandywell, on Friday night.
A solitary goal from the ever versatile Aaron Greene gave The Saints the morale boosting victory on Friday night.
Buckley’s charges will be fighting to book their place in a quarter final tie with Owen Heary’s Bohemian’s side as the Inchicore club look to end their 53 year wait for their third FAI Cup.
The Saints are clear of suspensions and the club have not indicated any injuries heading into Monday night’s game.
