LSL Senior Sunday round-up: Lucan United take top spot while Liffey Wanderers secure first victory

Jamie Doyle scored to propel Lucan United to top spot with a convincing victory over Killester-Donnycarney.

The former Shelbourne, UCD and Longford Town attacker is one of the most lethal strikers in the top-flight and he is beginning to prove his class yet again.

Lucan even raced into a 3-0 lead before the interval.

Anthony Kavanagh and Luke Walsh also joined Doyle as the trio on target – which catapulted Lucan above leaders Kilbarrack United into pole position.

And while it is early days yet, United are unbeaten in five games and have now won their last three games in a row.

At the other end of the table, Liffey Wanderers claimed their first win with a 3-2 success over Home Farm.

Shane Lyons and Sifax Mellah both found the net for John Hand’s side.

But Liffey had too much for them to handle with former Cabinteely and Bray Wanderers winger Paul Fox scoring the winner with a 25-yard chipped effort.

Mark Sandford and Caleb Gyasi were also on target for the Ringsend outfit.

They have now moved within a point of 13th-placed Bluebell United having played three games less than the Bell this season.

Elsewhere, Malahide United and Bangor Celtic played out a scoreless draw at Gannon Park.

And the same was the case at John Hyland Park as St Francis held St Mochta’s to a stalemate.
