Inter Miami CF announced the signing of Spanish national team defender Jordi Alba on a contract through the 2024 Major League Soccer season, with an option for 2025.

Alba, a UEFA Euro winner, UEFA Champions League winner, UEFA Nations League winner, and six-time LaLiga winner, is expected to join the team in the coming days.

"Jordi is an accomplished, dynamic and experienced player that we're excited to acquire to continue bolstering our squad," said Chris Henderson, Chief Soccer Director and Sporting Director at Inter Miami.

"We know that he'll help Inter Miami achieve the Club’s objectives this season and beyond.”

A veteran of Spanish football, Alba has been a pivotal part of the Spanish national team, most recently captaining the squad to a UEFA Nations League championship in 2023.

His club career has been equally impressive, with six LaLiga titles, a UEFA Champions League title, a FIFA Club World Cup title, and seven Copa del Rey titles.

Inter Miami has also recently secured the signatures of FC Barcelona greats Sergio Busquets and Lionel Messi, a testament to the team's ambition in MLS.

In another key signing, the club announced the addition of Paraguayan international Diego Gómez on a contract through the 2026 MLS season, with an option for 2027. This promising central midfielder joins as part of MLS’ U-22 initiative.

“Diego is a well-rounded midfielder that we believe will contribute in all phases of the game," said Henderson. "We believe in his ability and potential, and feel he will be a strong addition to our squad as we enter this next phase of growth at Inter Miami.”

A product of Paraguayan side Club Libertad, Gómez has already made a significant impact on Paraguayan football at a young age. With 51 appearances for Club Libertad, he has helped the team clinch two Paraguayan topflight titles.
