Derry City add three new signings to their ranks as pre-season preparations continue

Derry City have unveiled the triple capture of Darren Cole, Eoghan Stokes and Gerardo Bruna with manager Declan Devine ramping up his pre-season preparations. 

Cole re-signs with the Candystripes for his third consecutive year at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium while Stokes and Bruna arrive on Foyleside following spells with Bohemians and Ottawa Fury respectively. 

Cole, the 27-year-old defender, commits to another year at the club having joined mid-way through the 2017 campaign. 

During his stint at the club thus far, the Scottish native has made 50 appearances for the Candystripes with three goals to his name. 

He was also a part of the club’s 2018 EA Sports Cup success. 

Also joining the club is former Leeds United youth prodigy Eoghan Stokes. Stokes joins the Foylesiders having impressed at Bohemians last term following his return home from England.

A former Republic of Ireland under-19 International, Stokes played once for the Leeds first-team in a comfortable 5-1 hammering of Padraig Amond’s Newport County in 2017. 

In addition, Gerardo Bruna also joins the club having had a recent spell across the Atlantic with Ottawa Fury. 

The 28-year-old Argentinian joins Declan Devine’s ranks having had spells with Real Madrid and Liverpool previously before joining Blackpool in 2011. 

Bruna soon joined Spanish club Huesca before having stints at Whitehawk and Accrington Stanley across the Irish Sea.
