Former Bohemians striker Rob Manley among the new faces as Cabinteely confirm squad for 2019

Former Bohemians striker Rob Manley is among the new faces at Cabinteely after the First Division club confirmed their squad for the 2019 campaign.

Former Finn Harps striker Oisin McMenamin has also joined while ex-Wexford pair Shane Barnes and Sean Hurley have also joined the South Dublin outfit.

Cabo have retained the majority of last year’s panel with Kevin Knight and Joe Doyle moving on to pastures new with Longford Town and Bray Wanderers respectively.

Much of the squad have come up through the National League underage sides at the club with Jack Hudson, Paul Fox and Luke Clucas all once of the club’s under-17s and 19s.

With an average squad age of just 20, director of football Pat Devlin is excited to grant his young guns a chance in what will be a hugely competitive second tier.

“We’re possibly the young side in the league,” Devlin said at the first team squad and academy launch at Stradbrook Park.

“That’s the way it is. Players are coming through the club from the under-age set-up which bodes well for the future.

“We do believe that the squad is good enough to compete in what will be a very competitive First Division.”

Shotstopper Stephen McGuinness has also re-signed while 2017 PFAI First Division Player of the Year Kieran Marty Waters has committed to another year with the club.

Defenders Jack Tuite and Conor Keeley have also signed on for another year at the Stradbrook Road venue.

Former Shelbourne wide man James Woods has joined, along with fellow newboys Jonathan Carlin and Jamie Geoghegan.
