Watch: Troy Parrott makes it three in three as Spurs advance in the UEFA Youth League with Barcelona win

Troy Parrott was the main man once more as Tottenham Hotspur qualified for the play-off round of the UEFA Youth League with a 2-0 win away to holders Barcelona.

The Dubliner made headlines in November with a spectacular strike in Spurs’ 4-2 defeat to an Internazionale side captained by Clare man Ryan Nolan.

He also found the net in the north London side’s first win of the campaign in round four with an injury-time strike to seal a 2-0 win over PSV.

And 16-year-old Parrott made it three in three games as he put Spurs on course for three points in a game they needed to win to fend off Inter and seal the runners-up spot.

He fired Spurs in front after 17 minutes with a calm finish after Paris Maghoma unselfishly picked out the striker in the box when he could have shot himself.

Tottenham dominated for long periods at Mini Estadi, Barcelona’s youth stadium adjacent to Camp Nou, but rode their luck in the latter stages.

And they made the three points – and second place in the group – safe in injury time as substitute Rodel Richards struck home the rebound after Jack Roles’ initial shot had been blocked.

The draw for the play-off round against a team from the champions route – which will include Bohemians’ conquerors Midtjylland after they overcame PAOK – will be made on Monday.
