Jamie Hollywood re-signs with Longford Town for the 2019 season.

Longford Town midfield star Jamie Hollywood has signed a new deal with the club until the end of the 2019 season.

Hollywood made fifteen league appearances for De Town in this year’s First Division as the former Bohemians youth prodigy scored three league goals in a promising year for the Crumlin native.

However, injury cut the 21-year-old’s season short after a serious knee injury suffered against Galway United in August was enough to keep him out of Longford Town’s end of season Playoff push.

Speaking to Extratime.ie on the new deal, Hollywood revealed that he is delighted to remain at the City Calling Stadium for another year at least under the guise of Neale Fenn and his backroom team.

“I can confirm that I am staying at Longford for the 2019 season”. The former Drogheda United midfielder said.

“I’m really happy to be staying on at the club for another year. I’m looking forward to it!

I’m not too sure who has signed on for next year just yet but if we can keep the core of the squad from last year and obviously bring in a few new additions, we’ll have the basis of a really good team.

“If we can fix the small mistakes and the small margins from last year, we can really push on and make a serious effort at winning the title if not we can definitely make a push for the Playoff spots!”
