UEFA Nations League: Denmark player ratings v Republic of Ireland (October 13 2018)

Dave Donnelly reports from the Aviva Stadium

Kasper Schmeichel: 6

Had little to do but flawless when called upon as he nudged Christie's effort wide with his fingertips, and solid as ever under the high ball.

Henrik Dalsgaard: 5

The Brentford full back was defensively solid for the most part, but was easily skinned on a couple of occasions, most notably when turned on touchline by Callum Robinson.

Simon Kjaer: 7

Brilliantly won the header that almost led to the opening goal just before the hour, but Arter cleared off the line. Had the measure of Shane Long in the air and used all of his experience to keep him quiet.

Mathias Jorgensen: 6

The big Huddersfield Town defender was the quieter of the two centre halves and barely put a foot wrong when called into action.

Jens Stryger Larsen: 6

A quieter game than the Udinese left-back is used to having against Ireland, having been utilised to great effect bombing into the box in both World Cup play-off games, but his pace on the left allowed Sisto to wander inside.

Thomas Delaney: 4

Not the Borrusia Dortmund man's best game for his country, and he made the mistake to let in Hendrick early on as he dawdled instead of putting the ball out or playing on. His challenge on Randolph hurt the keeper but was entitled to go for it, but he deserved his booking for a late challenge on Shane Long.

Lasse Schone: 6

The better of Denmark's midfield two, used his rangey athleticism to good effect and ensured Ireland had little time on the ball on the rare occasion they tried to play through the middle, and his distribution was on point.

Martin Braithwaite: 4

Did well to find the space to zip a low shot on goal late on that Randolph saved smartly, but was otherwise anonymous in the hole as Arter kept him under wraps.

Yussuf Poulsen: 4

The less effective of Denmark's two wide men ran the channels well but was loose in the pass and struggled to get into positions in which he could hurt the Boys in Green.

Pione Sisto: 7

Always threatened to come in on his right foot and shoot, and the Celta Vigo winger was desperately unlucky to see his shot in first-half injury time hit the post and go wide. Had a good battle with Doherty and Long on the left-hand side and always willing to come back for more.

Kasper Dolberg: 3

The game passed the Ajax striker by for the most part as he was forced to feed on scraps and loose balls, and was second-best in the air against Keogh and Duffy before being hooked for Christensen late on.

Andreas Christensen: N/A

The Chelsea man was introduced late on for Dolberg but had little time to impress on the game.
