Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has joined up with the Republic of Ireland squad for training ahead of Tuesday's friendly with Poland in Wroclaw.

The 19-year-old linked up with Martin O'Neill's injury-hit squad for training in Wales this morning following last night's humbling 4-1 defeat to the hosts in Cardiff.

Striker Jon Walters, who played 90 minutes on Thursday night, has returned to his loan club Ipswich Town and won't travel with the squad to Poland.

It's uncertain whether Kelleher will travel with the squad to Poland with Darren Randolph, Colin Doyle and Sean McDermott already in place.

Cork native Kelleher recently signed a long-term deal with the Reds after establishing himself in the first-team squad at Melwood.

The Ireland under-21 international made his senior debut in a friendly against Blackburn last month and went on to feature in warm-up games against Manchester United and Manchester City.

“I’m very happy to sign a long deal with the club,” Kelleher told the Liverpool website earlier this month.

“I’m really enjoying my football here so I was happy to sign.

“Once the deal came in and I was happy, it was an easy decision really.”
