Conor Davis signs for the Students from Reading

Airtricity League First Division side UCD have signed striker Conor Davis from Championship side Reading.

The player has spent the last four years at the Madejski Stadium.

The former Templeogue United schoolboy moved across the water at just 16 years of age to Reading in 2004 but has decided to continue his quest for first team football back home in the Airtricity League.

His chance of first team football will be improved with the recent departure of Georgie Kelly to Dundalk.

Davis was capped at u16 and u17 level for the Republic of Ireland and has initially signed a deal until the end of the current season with a view to doing enough to secure a longer term deal from for next year.

UCD manager Collie O’Neill was delighted to secure Davis with his young college side expected to secure the First Division title in the coming weeks.

Once the signing was confirmed he said “He’s been training with us for a couple of weeks now, and he knows some of the lads well from his time with Templeogue before he went to Reading so that has obviously made it easier for him to settle in.”
