Murphy and Mulgannon pen deals with Galway United

Galway United have added Evan Murphy and Dara Mulgannon to their squad on short-term deals until the end of the 2018 season as Alan Muphy’s side continue their quest for promotion.

Both players return to the club for their second stint having spent two years lining out with the club’s under-19 side.

Galway United are still in contention for a playoff spot but have left themselves with a lot to do as they are currently six points behind Drogheda United in fourth place with just four league games remaining.

Their remaining games will see Longford Town and Wexford F.C welcomed to Terryland either side of travelling to Finn Harps and Shelbourne.

Alan Murphy spoke to galwayunitedfc.ie and was delighted with the additions to the squad as they try to end the season on a high.

“Dara Mulgannon has played for our under-19 team before, I’ve had him with the Connacht schools team. He’s a very bright young player,” he said.

“I had Evan Murphy in the Connacht schools team also. He’s a man mountain, a winner, he has natural ability.

“He’s one of the players I would have identified for Galway United for the future. He has that presence and quality about him.”
