Ireland defender Ciaran Clark hospitalised in Magaluf attack

Republic of Ireland defender Ciaran Clark has been hospitalised following an attack in a Spanish bar, according to reports.

The BBC reports that a man in his 30s has been arrested after punching the Newcastle United man at a bar in Magaluf early on Sunday morning.

29-times-capped Clark, who missed out on the summer friendlies with France and the United States with injury, was reportedly knocked unconscious in the incident.

The 28-year-old suffered cuts and bruises to his face and was treated at Son Espases hospital in Palma, but it's not known if he's been discharged.
