Bell unveils squad for vital Women's Qualifiers

Colin Bell has named a 21-player squad for the Republic of Ireland Women’s qualifier double bill against Norway in the coming weeks.

Two notable players to return to the squad after missing the recent qualifiers against Slovakia and the Netherlands are Player of the Year Harriet Scott who has recently recovered from a broken collarbone and Wexford Youths striker Rianna Jarrett who has been side lined with the third ACL injury of her career at just twenty three, but she is now back fit and raring to go. Tyler Toland returns as well after recovering from a hand injury.

"We're delighted to see Harriet return to the squad”, said Colin Bell at the squad announcement.

“She picked up another injury during her comeback from the collarbone but we're monitoring her closely and we hope she'll be fit for both games.

"I'd like to congratulate Rianna Jarrett who returns to the squad. To comeback from three ACL injuries requires a huge amount of hard work, commitment and desire, and she should be incredibly proud of her efforts so far.

"She's been in great form this season for Wexford Youths and I really feel that if she can continue to work hard and keep getting fitter and stronger with every game, she could be an important player for us in the future.”

The first test of a double fixture against Norway comes to Tallaght Stadium next Friday, June 8th (kick-off 5.30pm) and the squad then travel to Norway for the reverse fixture on Tuesday, June 12th (kick-off 5.00pm)

Colin Bell’s side currently occupy 2nd place in the group on ten points, just three adrift of table toppers and European Champions Netherlands.
