Home wins all round as EA Sports Cup semi-final line-up confirmed

The line-up for the semi-finals of the EA Sports Cup has been confirmed following home victories for Sligo Rovers, Cobh Ramblers and Dundalk on Tuesday night.

Holders Dundalk were comfortable 3-0 winners over Bohemians at Oriel Park as Dylan Connolly scored twice in the first half before Jamie McGrath rounded off the win late on (report here).

Cobh Ramblers are within a home win in the league but goals late in each half from Darren Murphy and Andrew Wall saw them past Longford Town at St Colman's Park.

And David Cawley struck just after the hour mark as Sligo eased past Waterford at the Showgrounds.

The trio join ten-times winners Derry City, who came out on top of a free-scoring 7-3 scoreline against First Division Shelbourne at the Brandywell on Bank Holiday Monday.

Ronan Curtis scored a first-half hat-trick while Aaron McEneff also netted twice before the break to end the Reds' interest in this year's competition (report here).

The draw for the semi-finals will be revealed on the league's official podcast Greatest League in the World early next week.
