League Preview: Finn Harps -v- Cabinteely

FINN HARPS

Ollie Horgan’s Harps will be hoping to get back to winning ways as they welcome Cabinteely to Finn Park (kick-off 8pm).

Last weekend at the UCD Bowl it was a topsy-turvy game as they went two goals down early on before striking twice in two minutes to make it 2-2 at the break.

But in the end the Students found a winner and handed Harps their second defeat of the year.

Harps currently sit one place behind Cabinteely in seventh but have played two less games as the weather played havoc with their schedule earlier in the campaign.

One point from their last three games could be seen as a concern for those in blue.

“Cabinteely’s win over Shelbourne puts them a point above us so they will come here full of confidence," Horgan told the club's website.

“Just to put that result into context, Shels are still third in the table so we have been impressing on our players the need to be switched on as they are well capable of scoring goals with the likes of Kieran ‘Marty’ Waters up front.”

On the injury front Gareth Harkin, Adam Duffy and Liam Walsh have been ruled out while Paddy McCourt has yet again been named as doubtful.

CABINTEELY

Pat Devlin’s men have made a rather indifferent start to the season in their opening eight games.

Cabo have picked up wins over Shelbourne, Athlone and Drogheda but have fallen to defeat on five occasions.

They currently sit one position higher than this week’s opponents, Finn Harps but have to date played two extra games as the weather has played havoc with the Ballybofey venue.

Cabinteely have scored nine goals and conceded fourteen thus far and will be hoping to add to the goals for tally as they make the long journey north.

Spirits will be raised and confidence high after a 2-0 win over Shelbourne last weekend in Stradbrook.

It is unknown whether or not Pat Devlin will have a full squad to choose from on the injury front but there is no suspensions to report.
