Watch: Should Rhys McCabe's stunning 60-yard strike have been disallowed?
Sligo Rovers moved clear of the relegation play-off spot with a 2-1 win over Limerick at the Markets Field on Saturday, leapfrogging the Blues in the process.
Rhys McCabe opened the scoring for the Bit o' Red just before the hour with a stunning free kick struck from 60 yards and over the head of keeper Brendan Clarke.
There was a degree of controversy over the goal, however, as the ball appeared to still be rolling when McCabe struck it.
Under the laws of the game, a ball must be stationary in order for a legal free kick to be taken, but referee Ben Connolly was happy to let the goal stand.
What's your view – should the goal have been disallowed?
Rhys McCabe scored this stunning goal for @sligorovers on Saturday in the win over @LimerickFCie. A moment of quick-thinking.
