EA SPORTS Cup Second Round Draw

The draw for the second round of the EA SPORTS Cup took place on Wednesday at FAI headquarters with the holders Dundalk drawn away to St. Patrick's Athletic in the standout tie of the round.

All bar one of the ties will be played on Easter Monday.

Runners up in last year's competition Shamrock Rovers will face Longford Town – when the sides met in the 2017 quarter-final, Rovers won 1-0 at Tallaght Stadium.

League Champions Cork City will face another Munster team having been drawn away to the winner of the Waterford v UCC fixture from the first round.

The weather played havoc across the sporting calendar last weekend with a number of first round fixtures still yet to be played in the competition, with one of the second round ties pushed out to Monday 23 April to facilitate the first round fixtures.

The other remaining first round ties that are still to be played include St. Mochtas v Drogheda United (due to be played on 2 April with a 5.30pm kick off), Bohemians v Cabinteely, Athlone Town v UCD and Bray Wanderers v Shelbourne.
