Watch: Rovers' Dobbs on the double as Ireland U19s complete clean sweep in Spain

Wexford's on-loan striker Aaron Dobbs scored twice as Ireland under-19s completed a clean double-sweep of victories over their Romanian counterparts in Murcia on Thursday.

After a scoreless first half, Dobbs broke the deadlock five minutes after the break with a brilliantly-taken header from Cieran Dunne's left-wing cross.

The Shamrock Rovers striker doubled his tally on the hour as he arrived at the back post to volley home another Dunne cross.

Romania managed a consolation goal from the spot late on through substitute Georgie Merloi but Tom Mohan's side held on to make it two wins from two on Spanish soil.

It's ideal preparation for the squad's upcoming European Championship Elite Round qualifying games in Portugal in March, where they'll face the hosts, Slovakia and Kosovo.

Mohan said: "This week was all about forming a squad for the Elite Round, and putting together the strongest squad possible.

“These players have shown the strength of the squad, and some players have put themselves in very strong positions."
