Drogs sign goalkeeper Luca Gratzer from Shamrock Rovers

Drogheda United have completed the signing of goalkeeper Luca Gratzer from Shamrock Rovers.

The 20-year-old first joined Rovers from Malahide United in 2014. He spent two years with the Hoops and moved to Bohemians for the 2016 season before then moving back to Rovers for 2017.

After appearing as a second half substitute in a 3-1 friendly victory against a Leeds under-23 side in February 2017, Gratzer made his only competitive appearance for Rovers six days later in their 1-0 Leinster Senior Cup defeat to Thomastown United in Kilkenny.

Gratzer has been on trial with Drogheda throughout pre-season and featured as a second half substitute in the Boynesiders' recent 4-1 friendly victory over Derry City.

He now signs for Drogheda, and will compete with Paul Skinner for the number one spot at the club.
