Derry re-sign Nicky Low on loan

Derry City have confirmed the re-signing of midfielder Nicky Low on a loan deal from Dundee until the summer.

The deal with Derry is for six months but with his Dundee contract set to expire in June it could leave him open to securing a permanent move to the Brandywell later this season.

The Scottish midfielder went on loan to the Candystripes from Dundee for the entirety of the 2017 season when Kenny Shiels men finished fourth in the Premier Division.

26-year-old Low began his career with Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen, having loan spells at Forfar and Alloa before moving on to Dundee on a permanent move.

In a statement on derrycityfc.net the club said: “Derry City are pleased to announce the return of Nicky Low, who returns to the club on an initial loan deal.

“Low joined City last season from Dundee and quickly established himself as a central part of the Derry City midfield. The Scot was a central figure for City as they secured fourth place in the Airtricity Premier Division and Europa League football for the 2018 campaign.

“Having returned to Scotland, Low had a number of offers on the table both domestically and from clubs in the League of Ireland who were impressed with his breakthrough.”
