Longford Town sign defender Adam O'Connor from Shelbourne

Neale Fenn continues to strengthen his Longford Town FC ranks as the Londoner has secured the signature of former Shelbourne defender Adam O’Connor for the 2018 First Division campaign.

The 23-year-old Dubliner is Fenn’s latest recruit as he looks to build a side capable of gaining promotion to the Premier Division in 2018.

23-year-old O’Connor has represented Shels in 84 league games in both the Premier and First Divisions since his debut for the Reds in July 2013 against UCD at the UCD Bowl.

O’Connor’s arrival brings the total numer of players signed by Longford Town up to 14 and is now the sixth new addition to the Red and Black for 2018.

O’Connor will not be the only former Shelbourne man to don the colours of Longford Town as current goalkeeper Jack Brady has had a previous stint at Tolka Park.

Also, O’Connor will be joined by one of his former team-mates in Daire Doyle who was recently confirmed as Neale Fenn’s new second-in-command following Gary Cronin’s departure at the end of the 2017 season.

Longford Town signed up for 2018: Jack Brady, Cian Byrne, Karl Chambers, Shane Elworthy, Jamie Hollywood, Peter Hopkins, Alan Kehoe, Michael Kelly, Chris Mulhall, Adam O'Connor, Andy O'Reilly, Daniel O'Reilly, Sam Verdon, Dean Zambra.
