The Extratime.ie Sportscast Episode 95 - Laura Heffernan - Emmet Malone

On this edition of the Extratime.ie Sportscast, host Declan Marron and reporter Dave Donnelly look back on a trophy-laden weekend of action in the League of Ireland and Women's National League and ahead to Ireland's World Cup play-off against Denmark.

It was a double cup triumph for Cork City at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday as both women's and men's sides scooped their respective FAI Cups within hours in front of the nation's eyes.

And Wexford Youths sealed their third Women's National League title in dramatic fashion in a winner-takes-all clash with Peamount United on Saturday, winning 2-0 thanks to a spectacular goal from Emma Hansberry and Rianna Jarrett's clincher.

The lads speak to Youths manager Laura Heffernan about a whirlwind first year in charge of the club, her experience coaching the United States and how she hopes to deal with the challenge of Champions League football next year.

Also on the show is Irish Times journalist Emmet Malone ahead the play-off first leg in Copenhagen.

He discusses meeting minds with Denmark coach Mister Hareide, what the Boys in Green can expect from the Danes and the mellowing of Roy Keane, as well as the quagmire that is trying to fill the Aviva Stadium on Cup final weekend.

Finally, there is far too much discussion of and a brief recap on League of Ireland clubs' major early moves in the transfer market.
