Draw for U19 League and Shield Quarter-Finals made

The quarter-final draws for the U19 League and Shield competitions has been made.

 

U19 League Quarter-Finals

The first of the U19 League quarter-finals takes place on Wednesday 11th October as UCD and Drogheda United meet at the UCD Bowl (kick-off 8pm). Drogheda finished third in the Northern Elite Division with UCD ending their season in second place, one point behind Southern Elite Division champions Cobh Ramblers.

 

Ramblers will welcome St. Patrick’s Athletic to St Coleman’s Park on Sunday 15th October (kick-off 2pm). The Saints finished fourth in the Northern league and will face a tough challenge against the Cork side.

 

Cobh’s neighbours Cork City also play on the 15th as they travel to the Showgrounds to face Sligo Rovers (kick-off 3.30pm). The final quarter-final will be played on Wednesday 18th October as Bohemians welcome Limerick to Dalymount Park (kick-off 7.45pm).    

 

U19 Shield Quarter-Finals



The quarter-finals of the U19 Shield competition will take place on Saturday 14th October and Sunday 15th October.

 

Three games are down for decision on the Saturday. Waterford welcome Shamrock Rovers to the RSC (kick-off 1pm). The Blues come into this match having beaten local rivals Wexford 4-0 in Round 1.

 

Cabinteely will make the trip up the M1 to face Dundalk in Oriel Park (kick-off 2pm). Cabo progressed to the quarter-finals after a Paul Fox brace gave the South Dublin side a 2-0 win over Bray Wanderers.

 



The final game on the Saturday sees Derry City take on Galway United in Wilton Park (kick-off 2pm). It’s back-to-back away games for the Tribesmen as they had to travel to Athlone Town in the previous round. Goals from Ronan Manning and Declan Sharkey sealed a 2-0 win.

 

The final quarter-final clash takes place on the Sunday as Shelbourne make the long trip north to Curragh to take on Finn Harps. In the previous round Shelbourne defeated Longford Town 3-1 thanks to goals from Gabriel Aghinita, Arran Molloy and Jordan Adeyemo. Harps recorded an impressive 6-1 win over Monaghan Cavan to progress to this stage of the competition.
