League Preview: Cabinteely -v- Cobh Ramblers

CABINTEELY

After a very mixed start to their league campaign, Cabinteely will hope to avoid a fourth straight defeat as they welcome their old bogey team Cobh Ramblers to Dublin’s south-east on Friday (kick-off 7.45pm).

Back to Back 1-0 defeats to Longford and Wexford and a heavy 3-0 defeat to Wexford leave Pat Devlin’s side in 6th place just above fellow strugglers Athlone.

The sides have met twice already this season, with both sides managing to claim a scalp over the other, Cabo winning 4-1 the last time these sides met at Stradbrook and Cobh winning at home 2-0 in May.

Midfielder Christian Lotefa is suspended for the next three games as he serves a four-game ban for an altercation with Ricky Fox during Cabo's 1-0 loss to Wexford last month.

COBH RAMBLERS

Title hopefuls Cobh Ramblers come in to this game in great form following a 3-1 win over Athlone the previous week.

Cobh may have some tired legs after entertaining Championship sides Norwich in a friendly on Wednesday, which they lost 5-0.

Defeats in 2 out of 4 previous games have allowed Waterford to hold a slight grasp at this year’s league title, defeats to Longford and Shelbourne have cost the side as they will look to bounce back against Cabinteely .

Sitting 3 points off top place Waterford who play rock bottom Wexford on Friday night, boss Stephen Henderson will be hoping to keep the pressure firmly on Waterford at the top.

Henderson will have to plan without versatility man Ian Mylod, who serves a one-game ban after accumulating five yellow cards.
