Extratime.ie seeks new volunteers to join the Team

2016 was a fantastic year for football in Ireland.

Robbie Brady’s late winner in Lille as the Republic of Ireland qualified for the last 16 of Euro 2016 and Ciaran Kilduff’s winning goal at Tallaght Stadium as Dundalk claimed the first three points of any Irish side in a European competition group stage are just a couple of memories that come to mind.

Some lucky men and women were fortunate enough to witness such moments as part of the extratime.ie team.

We have covered Dundalk’s domestic and European success home and away. We were present as Real Madrid won the 2016 UEFA Champions League at the San Siro. We had a team of four reporters and one photographer at Euro 2016 and we’ve also provided extensive coverage on the Irish men’s national team.

Now it’s your chance. Would you like to report from the Aviva Stadium, follow League of Ireland sides in Europe or report from your favourite SSE Airtricity League venues on a week-to-week basis?

Do you have a good knowledge of Irish domestic football, a strong work ethic, and an enthusiasm for sports reporting? Then extratime.ie are looking for you to join our team of volunteer reporters.

Not only do we report on matches, we provide a live update service for each game. We have photographers to snap the best shots from fixtuers up and down the country and from major European finals to the domestic under-17s and soon-to-be under-15s leagues.

We offer a weekly podcast during the season, interviewing players, managers, officials etc. not only from the domestic league, but across the world of football.

Maybe you have a particular interest in social media or graphic design. These are all qualities that we are interested in having on our team.

So, whether you want to write, take photographs, provide live updates, podcast, tweet, Facebook, Instagram, snapchat, if you have a knowledge of the League of Ireland and would like to be involved with our team in 2017, email ExtratimeLive@gmail.com explaining why you want to work with the site, details of any journalism experience to date and, where possible, a one page CV or resume.
